What is SFMNP?

The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program provides eligible seniors with checks to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs directly from authorized farmers’ markets. 

Please note: SFMNP checks can only be used at authorized farmers’ markets — they cannot be redeemed at grocery or retail stores. Checks are valid from June 1 through October 15 only.

Eligibility Requirements

 
Age 60 or older at the time of application
 
Date of birth must be verified at time of application
 
Must apply in your county of residence
 
Income is self-declared for all household members

5 checks valued at $10 each
$50 total benefit per season
 Valid: June 1 – October 15

Proxy Instructions

Picking up vouchers for someone else? The proxy must bring:

✓ The applicant’s South Carolina ID

✓ Proof of income

✓ A legible written request authorizing the proxy to apply on their behalf
